Two years ago, we were proud to support Kalyn McDonough through our Project Support Award for Australia. Recently, the Lois Roth Foundation Board had the pleasure of reconnecting over lunch and hearing how this remarkable Fulbright researcher—now a Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University—continues to turn her research into action.

Kalyn shared, “Through the generous support of the Lois Roth Foundation Award, I was able to take what I was learning through my Fulbright experience and bridge the research to practice—partnering with several national and local organizations to run a pilot sport for change program with young men and women at a youth detention centre in Queensland.”

Now as a Professor, she’s amplifying the power of cultural exchange and shaping a new generation of globally engaged scholars. The Roth Foundation is proud to have played a small part in her journey.
